Brethren,
It is with great pleasure and many thanks for your confidence in electing me Junior Warden of Mountain Park Lodge #729. I look forward to a great year with many old and some new things happening.
As always, the Chicken Fry is our big fund raiser for the year. It is scheduled for June 7th this year. Please mark your calendars. There should be plenty of activities for children and adults. Moon walk, cake and stuff auction, music and more. WB Heckert has also planned our CHIPS program for this day. This combined with our usual crowd could mean a huge turnout, and we need all the help we can get. Breakfast fund raisers are also planned, and I am looking for a date in the fall for a Bar-B-Que.
Since there is going to be a lot of activity this year at the Chicken Fry, there will be sign up sheets at the lodge, or you can contact me on where you would like to help. You all know where you have been in the past, but I don’t, and we need to know who can do what, and how much additional help we will need. We need fry people, bar-b-que people, bean people, help to set up help early morning or the evening before depending on weather, clean up help early evening until done (very important since we’re all tired by this time), breakfast cooks, kitchen help, servers, dish washers, CHIPS help (could be several people), moon walk guides, car parkers, etc., etc., etc. A lot of you make a whole day of it, which is even better. More info will come later on all of this, but please mark the date and be ready to participate.
This looks like it will be a great year, and I hope everyone will get involved in your lodge. We enjoy the brothers we see all the time but miss the ones we don’t see.
It used to be said that Mountain Park Lodge #729 is the “Best Little Lodge IN GA”, and we need to prove that it still is.
